About Me
Who I am
Hiya! My name is Mohamed Khaled Handawi, a first-year Doctor of Medicine student at Gulf Medical University in Ajman, UAE. I am currently 19 years old and I’m a person who likes to work hard, being always curious, and be professional all the time. I have always been interested in the field of Medicine due to it being specialised in helping people and real human connection. Now currently that I’m starting this journey, I am focused on learning and gaining knowledge as much as I can, growing along the way, and becoming the best version of myself.
Why I Chose Doctor of Medicine
Generally, medicine motivates me because it’s a field that relies on responsibility, being always professional, and constant learning. I chose this field/path because I want to be the person who makes a positive difference in people’s health and builds strong clinical and communication skills and become the kind of doctor who listens, cares, and communicates clearly.
My Goals As A Medical Student
As I continue my studies at GMU, my goal would be to build a strong base of medicine as well as clinical knowledge, improve my communication and patient-centred skills, and grow in confidence and professionalism. In addition, I want to keep reflecting on my strengths, challenges, as well as achievements, so I can keep improving moving forward.
My Vision For The Future
I hope to become a Doctor who can communicate with genuine empathy, make sensible and ethical decisions, and work comfortably. I am someone who likes to look back on what I’ve done and achieved, learn from it, and keep improving bit by bit. This portfolio is just part of that journey; its a place for me to keep track of how I am getting on, recognise the progress I am continuously making, and reflect on the things that help me grow.
